Turn Back of the Pendulum: National Service Days pt2

Today[12/1/2010], a new guy came. His name is Koo Chin Kiat and aged 20 years old. He's such a sweet guy with funny Cantonese accent. I felt like wanna laugh every time I chat with him. On the next day[13/1/2010], two guys came and joined us. A Malay and a Chinese, Lim Kim Hua. He looks quite funny when he talks. He's quite easy to get along with but after a few days, he started scaring us at night by making some sort of noise when he was doing sit-ups and bumping. On the same day, a Malay was sent home as he was underweight. He even can't fit into his baju kelas and baju pt as the S-sized shirts were too big for his small and thin body.

[15/1/2010]The unforgettable activity in CB Class, Aktiviti Kapal Terbang, made me realized of how important hardship and teamwork is. That activity is quite fun anyway. Its KKJ(Kontrak Kita Janji) presentation time, I saw the wirawati worked together when they shouted our Bravo cheer whereas the wira, I had nothing to say much about us. As a result of lack of teamwork and hardship, we got the last place. I felt ashamed of myself though as I am part of Bravo.

Today[23/1/2010], we are introduced to Malam Kebudayaan. Everyone was required to wear baju kebudayaan but not everyone was gonna wear it. I borrowed a baju Melayu from Syamin and FORTUNATELY! I fit into his size. =D

A New Beginning

On the last Thursday, which was on the 1st of April, my mum fetched me to the shop as usual. I spent my time sleeping in the morning. During afternoon, I finally woke up. I helped my parents in the shop by taking heavily weighted stuffs, 25kg of Corn Starch Powder, 50kg of Pure Vacuumed Salt, 25kg of MSG and so on.. In the evening, things were starting to get easier. I was needed just to clean up the shop. I heard my dad mentioned something about he had bought 2 nests for the birds which live in the bamboo trees beside my house. When I saw the two nests, I was happy that those birds would never have to bare the rough wind blowing through the bamboo trees.

The 2 bird nests

Suddenly, I heard some kind of chirping sound came out from one of the nests. After I checked them, I found out there was a young and newly-born little bird inside the nest. It was shivering and hungry as it kept opened its beak.

The fragile bird

Without hesitation, my dad quickly took some cereal and soaked the cereal in to the water until it became muddy. After that, he fed the bird but did not know real way of feeding it. Thanks to Azam from my dorm, I taught dad of the way of feeding a baby-bird. After that, we decided to rare the young poor bird. We feed it everyday and every time it chirps by showing that it is hungry.

We hope that this young poor bird will finally raise its own wings and fly away some other days when it has grew older. But we also have one unanswerable question - when will it die as it is still fragile now. My parents and I feed it everyday like one of our family members, hoping that the question will not be answered so early. We pray that this fragile baby-bird can fight for its life in the future easily with our initial help on the beginning.
