When I was in the BM tuition about last September, the girls there keep shouting bout "ARGH!! Lady luck is not on my side!! I'm CHOSEN for National Service!!" and etc.. After I asked them about the steps to checked whether I got chosen or not, I tried it through my '老牙' handphone, and I was chosen for the first batch of 7th series / 2010 at Kem Geo Kosmo, Kuala Kubu Bharu. I was not sure of my feeling.. I was like very excited and can't wait to go there meanwhile, I felt like 'Uh!! Why me?'. On December, I finally received the letter of National Service and I greeted the Mr Postman.^^ During the last week, I kept asking my friend who had been too, chosen for National Service on how to fill in the forms.. After a couple of days, I finished filling the forms. What a mess!!
I was nervous on that day[2/1/2010]. The day where everyone who was chosen for National Service had to sign up at the gathering point, Stadium Indera Mulia, Ipoh.. After I had signed up and handed in the bus ticket, I quickly put my belongings into the cargo hold of the bus which I had to aboard. Parents were not allowed to go into the area, even to hug their children. What I was thinking at that time was we seemed like being held up and quarantined for having a plague. Soldiers with M-16 were guarding at the main gate. I saw many faces at that time, sad, sorrow, excited, happiness and even emotionless. I was in the bus looking for a seat and I saw Cheong Choon Yee!! My classmate, so I sat beside him. After a few minutes, my mum phoned me to come out to give me some medicine. She nearly cried and fortunately my brother and I calmed her down and I told her I'm gonna have some nice friends there. =]
Journey to the kem had started and I took a nap. A shake woke me up. I sms-ed with my friend, Sia Jun Bin. He told me he was very scared as there was no familiar faces there on his bus which was heading to Kem Bina Semangat, Kuala Kubu Bharu and I asked him to search closely after he reached the camp. Once the bus passed the bridge, I was like 'OMG!! WTF!! What happened??!' After a while, I finally understood. It was a sweat case. DiGi numbers had no reception at all once we crossed the bridge. I felt like wanna sue DiGi Centre for posting those advertisements of "I WILL FOLLOW YOU!~". In fact, they should post in "I WILL FOLLOW YOU!~ TO THE HALF WAY!~". =___=
We finally reached the kem! Kem Geo Kosmo, Kuala Kubu Bharu! o(^o^)0 Everyone alighted the bus and took out our own belongings. There were two small khemah each located at both left and right sides of the hall entrance. Each khemah is for each sex. Wira for boys and Wirawati for girls. I believe there's no Ah Gua here. CCY was the first one to lapor diri. Suddenly Ian walked passed the row and I was surprised!! I thought there were only CCY and me. After the jurulatih had checked my bag, I put down my things and went to get some food with Ian. Ian told me he was in L3. YAY!! I'm not ALONE!! Jin Yang finally arrived and he was alone in L8. Ipoh guys seemed to be the first to reach here.
When Ian and I reached the L3 dorm, we quickly chose the best place to sleep. Near the door at the front of the dorm. We got new lockers and all tilam were undergone vandalism. =_= When I opened my locker, OMG! Carcasses of dead spiderlings! YUCKS! It took me some time to clean it. (T.T) A guy started to talk to Ian and I was wondering who. He was nice anyway, to greet us all. His name is Lew Wai Loon. There we saw a guy spent his time sleeping the whole day and we were wondering what had happened to him.
On the coming day[3/1/2010], more people were coming in. They were from Selangor and Tapah. There were nothing for us to do for the first two days except sleep, eat and sleep. What a day. On the next day[4/1/2010], we finally got our uniforms and piti sets. In the evening when I just woke up after a nap, a Malay suddenly came near me and ask me whether I smoke. I was blurred and do not know what to answer except turning my head left and right. After that, he walked away. At night, we did our first 'Baris Malam'. When we were in L3 dorm preparing to sleep, we smelled pungent smoking smell and the Malays were smoking at the other side of the dorm. We really can't stand the smell but we insisted ourselves to sleep with the selimut covering our whole bodies.
Today[5/1/2010], we were told of the name of each of our kompeni. Alpha, Bravo, Charlie and Delta. There were one Penghulu elected, Mahathir from Delta and one Penghulu wirawati from Bravo(whom I don't know her name yet). One Ketua Kompeni was elected for each kompeni of wira and wirawati. The Ketua Kompeni for Wira Bravo was Azroy and Ketua Kompeni for Wirawati Bravo was Wani. The day I would never forget[6/1/2010], we shaved our head bald for the first time in the camp. When we were bathing, Wai Loon and Ian kept saying that the feeling of being bald is MAGNIFICENT!! They said that there was some kind of feeling when they scrubbed anything against their head. I didn't comment anything about it as I was used to these bald situation from primary to secondary school. At night, Azroy did the wrong way of berkawad when he was melapor. The Malays laughed a loud and Azroy was scolded by the jurulatih for not capable of controlling the people. Those Malays teased him and made fun of him when we were in dorm. To me, they are just laughing at their stupidity. Everyone done something wrong in our lifes, right?
This was the first day I was woke up by a loud alarm noice of a clock[7/1/2010]. The funniest thing was, the owner of the alarm clock was still sleeping even though the clock was located right beside his ears ringing loudly. He was Vimal, the best Indian I've ever met in my whole life.
We were introduced to KKJ[8/1/2010]. I yawned every half an hour in the morning until I decided to sleep on the table. We had to discuss for the name of our Bravo. When we were in the room, what I saw was wirawati all sat together in few groups with different races in each group whereas wira split to few groups according to races. Fortunately the Chinese wira got join with a few Malays. While discussing, the Malay wira group came out the most ridiculous name, 'Baka', which means pig. What idiots they were and they were scolded by all the jurulatih. Finally, the name Aurora was suggested by wirawati and we agreed with such a meaningful name. I was asked to help to draw the logo of Aurora.
On the first day of CB class, I was blurred and do not know what to do. I was in CB4. We were asked to sit in groups and create a name for our own group. The first captain on the first day in our group was Rain and he decided to name our group with '1 Hati'. If I'm not wrong, the members of 1 Hati were Rain, Lesslar, Wani, Linda, Nana, Ryan Chua who came in after a few days of CB class and lastly, myself. The jurulatih introduced themselves Cikgu Salina and I forgot the other two jurulatih's name. They said that CB4 was the most luckiest CB Class ever as the jurulatih in this CB class were all female. To me, thank God! It'll be better for me if the teachers were all female.
